Renewables
Nevada is rich in renewable energy. Wind, solar, biomass, geothermal, biogas and hybrid resources that have the potential to meet much of the state's energy needs, reducing the amount of energy the state imports and, perhaps, becoming a major new industry for the state.
At the moment, geothermal resources are generating the most power. Solar development has just resently taken some major steps. The most underutilized renewable resource in Nevada is wind. Biomass activities in Nevada are largely driven by the Fuels for School Program.
PBR is working closely with utilities, municipalities, rural electrical cooperatives, the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada, the Nevada Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation Task Force, public policy makers, communities and others to develop Nevada's renewable resources.
